To mark this occasion, this new website has been launched, offering an updated presentation of the Centre for Building Heritage in Plasy.
The Plasy branch of the National Technical Museum has achieved many successes and received several awards over the past 10 years. It continues to develop and offer new experiences.
This year, visitors to the CSD Plasy are welcomed with a rare surprise. In celebration of the 880th anniversary of the founding of the Cistercian monastery in Plasy, the Epistles of Saint Bernard of Clairvaux from the collections of the National Heritage Institute will be on display. The letters were written by St. Bernard, an important figure of his time and abbot of Clairvaux, considered the founder of the Cistercian Order.
The extensive Exhibition on Construction has been enriched with models from the successful NTM exhibition about the architect Santini. The section on Roofing Materials has undergone major changes, now offering deeper insights for both enthusiasts and professionals. The Medieval Building Machines exhibition has been expanded to include parts of the exhibition High Gothic in Models, a result of years of work by students from the Faculty of Civil Engineering at the Czech Technical University in Prague.
In cooperation with the Ministry of Regional Development of the Czech Republic, the CSD Plasy is also hosting a panel exhibition titled Technical Treasures: Stories of Restoration and Innovation from the European Funds.
A visit to the Centre for Building Heritage is recommended not only for those interested in construction and history but also for families with children. Interactive exhibits such as Statics Through Play invite visitors to explore and discover. Even the youngest can test their building skills at the Construction Playground. Refreshments are available at the café or restaurant. Cyclists can take advantage of a free charging station for e-bikes.
