MUSEUM PEDAGOGY PROGRAMMES

The aim of the programmes at the Centre of Building Heritage of the National Technical Museum Plasy is to show children (and not only them) building as a great unexplored world that invites to be explored. Together with them we think, discover, touch, create. Unless otherwise stated, the programmes are prepared in different variants for all ages, and we always adapt them to the specific group.

There will be no educational activities in the NTM including its branches in the period from 5 to 18 October 2020 in accordance with the state of emergency. Thank you for your understanding.

Appointments for programs must be made in advance.

MUSEUM PEDAGOGY PROGRAMS (60 – 90 minutes)

EXPOSURE TO CONSTRUCTION – THINK, DISCOVER, CREATE

Journey through the construction of a house from foundation to roof with an experienced lecturer. During the program you will get acquainted with the entire museum, solve practical tasks related to construction, discover problems, find solutions.

STATICS – WHY IT (DOESN’T) FALL DOWN…

The programme takes place in a special educational workplace called Static through play. A playful programme in which you discover the basic principles of statics through experiments, your own creations and challenges – i.e. WHY (WON’T) IT FALL?!

EXPOSURE OF BUILDING-HISTORICAL RESEARCH

A basic introduction to what a building-historical survey is, its aims, uses, questions. Discovering together the history of the building through concrete examples of the building-historical survey.
The program is suitable for high school and college students.

ARTS AND CRAFTS WORKSHOPS

CARPENTRY – BASICS OF WORKING WITH WOOD

Working with wood is fascinating. At the beginning of the program, participants will learn about basic materials, tools, procedures, and safety principles. They will be able to choose the product they will create from our inspirational range or they can choose to create their own idea.
You’ll want to keep coming back to the woodworking shop. Better yet, you can be inspired by what it takes to make your own creations. It doesn’t have to be much.
duration: 1.5 hours

CARPENTRY FOR LITTLE ONES

Workshop designed for kindergarten and 1st grade of elementary school. Children will learn about wood, the tools used to work it and make their own simple product. The joy of creation is great.
duration: 1 hour
