18. – 20. 3. 2016 CONFERENCE

On 18-20 March 2016, the Centre of Building Heritage Plasy hosted for the first time the international conference “History of Buildings”. This year’s edition of this professional meeting was attended by 115 researchers of historical buildings, conservationists, architectural historians and other researchers and those interested in the history of building culture. Since 2000, the History of Buildings conferences have traditionally been held at the Nečtiny Castle, but while the Nečtiny Castle is currently undergoing renovation, the restoration of the buildings of the Building Heritage Centre has already been completed and the newly created conference facilities have thus attempted to fully replace the original venue.

The main organizer and guarantor of the 17th annual conference was once again the August Sedláček Club. The conference sessions were held in the usual thematic blocks focused on the architecture of castles and manor houses, church buildings, folk architecture, urban buildings and other related topics. There was also space for poster presentations. Traditionally, the proceedings of last year’s conference History of Buildings 2015 were also distributed for the first time.

Further information, including the programme, is available on the conference website .
